Mobile Car Detailing FAQ — Monterey, CA

The questions our concierge team fields every week from Monterey County clients, answered candidly and without the sales pitch. If your question isn't addressed here, simply call and ask — we're glad to help.

General questions about our mobile detailing service

What does mobile detailing mean, exactly?

We come to wherever the car already is — your driveway, your workplace lot, a hotel space. There is nothing to drop off and no lobby to wait in. We simply get to work while you carry on with your day.

Are you really open 24 hours?

Our phone line remains open around the clock, and we regularly book early-morning and late-evening appointments. Exterior work is easier to perform in daylight, so we'll guide you toward the time that yields the best result.

How much does a detail cost?

Exterior details begin at $99 for small sedans and coupes, interior details begin at $149, and complete details begin at $219. SUVs, trucks, vans and especially soiled vehicles are priced accordingly. Visit our full pricing page, then call for a fixed quote before booking.

What if it rains on my appointment?

Interior work is unaffected by weather. For exterior details we'll call to reschedule your slot rather than wax a car in the rain.

Do I need to be home while you work?

No, provided we can access the vehicle and it is legal for us to occupy the space. Many clients simply leave their keys and return to a beautifully finished car.

Which areas do you serve?

We serve Monterey and the surrounding Peninsula communities, including Monterey, Carmel, Pacific Grove, Seaside, Marina and Salinas.

Can you remove pet hair and odor?

Yes — it is among our most frequently requested services. Hair is lifted from the carpet backing and seat seams, and odor departs with the extracted moisture rather than being sprayed over.

Complete Detail — Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a complete detail take?

Plan on four to six hours depending on the size and condition of the vehicle. We will give you a realistic window when we provide the quote.

Is this worth it before selling my car?

It is among the most common reasons clients book it. A gleaming, freshly detailed car photographs better and commands a stronger asking price than the same vehicle left unwashed.

Can I book maintenance visits after?

Yes — most clients transition to a lighter, scheduled maintenance detail once the vehicle has been fully restored.

Full Body Wash & Wax — Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a wax last in Monterey's climate?

Expect roughly two to three months of confident water beading here — the marine layer and salt air are considerably harder on a finish than an inland climate would be.

Can you remove swirl marks?

Light marring improves noticeably with our polishing step. Deeper scratches through the clear coat call for dedicated body-shop work — describe what you're seeing and we'll offer an honest assessment.

Interior Detail — Frequently Asked Questions

How long until I can use the car again?

Most interiors are comfortably usable within an hour or two. More intensive extraction work feels fully dry by the following morning — cracking the windows will hasten that.

Will you really get all the pet hair out?

We remove the overwhelming majority, including hair woven into the carpet backing and seat seams. Exceptionally heavy shedding occasionally warrants a second visit, and we will always tell you that before beginning, not after.

Do you use harsh chemicals on leather?

No. Leather receives a pH-appropriate cleanser and a proper conditioner. Steam and extraction handle the heavier lifting on fabric surfaces.

Ceramic Coating & Polish — Frequently Asked Questions

How long does ceramic coating last?

A professionally applied coating routinely lasts two to five years depending on the product tier, how the vehicle is stored, and how it is maintained. We will recommend the right grade for your driving habits and budget.

Will ceramic coating remove scratches?

Coating itself does not remove scratches, but our polishing step is designed to reduce or eliminate fine swirl marks and light marring before the coating is applied. Deeper clear-coat damage may still require more intensive correction.

Can ceramic coating be done outside in Monterey?

Yes, provided we have shade, dry air, and enough time for the coating to set without rain. We schedule coating work with weather in mind and will advise if a garage, carport, or covered space is available.

Maintenance Plan — Frequently Asked Questions

How often should my vehicle be maintained?

Most Monterey drivers choose bi-weekly or monthly visits. Daily drivers, coastal parkers, and dark-colored vehicles benefit from bi-weekly care; garaged weekend cars often do beautifully on a monthly plan. We'll recommend the right cadence after seeing the vehicle.

Do maintenance plan members get better pricing?

Yes. Because a maintained vehicle requires less intensive work each visit, member rates sit below our standard one-off pricing. The exact rate depends on vehicle size and visit frequency, and we confirm it before your plan begins.

Can I pause or change my plan?

Absolutely. Life changes — travel, a second vehicle, a season away. You can pause, skip, or adjust frequency at any time with a quick call or text, and we'll re-baseline the vehicle whenever you're ready to resume.

Pet Hair & Odor Removal — Frequently Asked Questions

Can you get dog hair out of a fabric interior completely?

We remove the vast majority, including hair woven deep into the carpet backing. Extreme shedding occasionally requires a second visit, and we will say so candidly before we begin rather than after.

Do you remove cigarette smoke smell from a car?

Usually, yes. Smoke settles across every surface, so we thoroughly clean the headliner, vents and glass film in addition to the carpet. Long-term, heavy smoking can leave a faint trace, and we will be candid about that possibility.

Is the treatment safe for pets and kids?

Yes. Steam and extraction accomplish most of the work, and the finishing products we use are dry and entirely safe once the interior has aired out.

Fleet & Work Truck Detailing — Frequently Asked Questions

How many vehicles can you do in one visit?

It depends on service level, but a maintenance-level wash across a small fleet is routinely completed in a single block. Tell us the count and we'll offer a realistic schedule.

Can you invoice a business account?

Yes. Call and we'll arrange recurring service and billing for your account.
